What is mobile banking?
Mobile banking, mBank is specifically designed for internet banking on mobile devices. It enables you to access the Humes internet banking system, iBank, via the internet using your mobile phone. It's a fast and convenient way to keep track of your money when youIt're on the go.

What is the difference between using my mobile phone instead of my computer to access internet banking?
Mobile phones can access the internet in the same manner as computers; however web browsers on mobiles are generally simpler, the download speed is slower and the screen is smaller. mBank caters for this by offering simple functionality, fast access and screens designed for mobile devices.

Do I need to register before I can access mBank?
If you are already registered for iBank and already have a security device that has been activated on iBank, then you can access mBank straight away from your mobile. To register for iBank visit your nearest Hume Branch

Do I need a security device to access mBank?
Yes to be able to access mBank you must have activated your security device on iBank, before you can access mBank. To find out more about how to activate your security device go to the hume build website by clicking here.

What if I forgot my password?
If you have forgotten your password, you will need to contact Hume to reset your password.
You can call Hume on 1300 004 863 during 9am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday.

Why do I have to have a security device to access mBank?
A security device is required to access mBank to assist in providing protection for your personal information and financial transactions online. Having a security device further protects you if your password becomes compromised.

Is it safe to use my mobile phone for my banking?
Using your mobile for internet banking is as secure as using internet banking from your computer. For an added layer of security it is mandatory to use a One Time Password generated from a security device when you access mBank.

Is there a risk if I lose my mobile or its stolen?
There is no security risk. Account information and login details are not stored on your phone. However we recommend that you switch on your pass code to protect your phone.

What type of mobile can I use to access mBank?
You can access mBank with iPhone and iPod Touch (Safari web browser only) and with most smart phones using Windows mobile browsers. Although we will continue to develop mBank, we can't always guarantee access for all browser versions or for phones not made for browsing the internet.
Carrier charges may be incurred depending on your mobile phone plan. - How do I access mBank on my mobile?

Will I be charged a fee when I access mBank via mobile?
Hume doesn't charge any fee to access mBank via your mobile. Your current internet and mobile service providers will have normal charges that apply.

Can I access mBank via my mobile when I am overseas?
Yes. However, roaming charges may apply. To find out more, please contact your mobile service provider.

The speed of mobile banking depends on your mobile service provider.

To ensure the best experience, you should switch the following settings on (if you can):

Is there an iPhone application for mBank?
No. Accessing mBank on your mobile does not require any additional software as it is accessed using your mobile phone's web browser.

What happens if my phone locks from inactivity?
mBank will automatically lock you out after 20 minutes of inactivity. You should always sign out of mBank when you have finished.

What can I access?
The same accounts you have access to in iBank.
The most recent 100 transactions on an account.
Update personal details including residential and postal addresses.
View last login detail for iBank and mBank.
View interest earned and interest charged on your accounts.

Can I make an Internal Transfer?
You can transact from one of your Hume accounts to another of your accounts using the drop down menu, or you can enter in another known account, however you will also need to enter in Hume's BSB number which is 640000.
Transfer Money
From: Select the account you wish to transact out of
To: Select an account to transact to, if you wish to transact to another account not shown in the list select ---Pay New ---
Enter BSB - if a Hume account enter 640000, if another financial institution enter their BSB
Enter Account Number
Account Name - the name of the recipient
Customer Reference - Reference to appear on the recipient's statement
Account Nickname - this is where you can save this person as a Personal Payee, this will also update in iBank.
Select Next when complete
Enter amount
Payment option, select if this is to be:
Pay Now
Once on - select a date to be paid
Recurring - Select frequency, Weekly, fortnightly, monthly, quarterly, half yearly, annually, four weekly, two monthly.
Start date
Select either
No end date, you will need to manually cancel Future Payment
Nominate End date after X amount of payments
Nominate a date for the Future payment to end on.
Select Next
Confirm payment details, if correct confirm, if incorrect Modify. -
Can I make an External Transfer?
Yes you can, if you follow the steps above for making an Internal Transfer, rather than inputting Hume's BSB, enter in the Financial Institution's BSB that you want to pay.

What is a Daily External Transfer limit?
An External Transfer Limit is a daily limit which you set on each of your accounts. This limit then becomes the maximum amount that you can transfer from that account to another Financial Institution on any one day and does not include transfers made by BPay or cheque.
The default Daily External Transfer limit is set to zero. -
How do I apply for a Daily External Transfer limit or increase an existing limit?
To apply for a Daily external transfer limit or change your existing limit visit a Hume branch.

Can I make a BPAY Transaction?
You can make a BPAY transaction from one of your Hume accounts, to another Biller. You will need the Biller Code and Reference number.

To: Select a Bill that you wish to pay or if Biller is not shown in the list select ---Pay New ---
Enter Biller Code
Enter Customer Reference
Biller Nickname - this is where you can save this Biller as a Personal Payee, this will also update in iBank.

What if I need to pay someone that isn't a Personal Payee?
As long as you have their bank details then you can add a New Payee, however you cannot edit or delete an existing Personal Payee on mBank. You will need to do this via iBank.

Can I operate an account that requires more than one signatory on mBank?
No. If you wish to transact on a two to sign account you will need to do this through iBank.
